Part A: Individual Work

  • Read or view the Apology Speech. You only need to read or view the first part ending with Nanna Fejo's story.
  • Take note of 3 elements that you find striking or interesting.
  • Come up with 3 questions you have relating to the 'Stolen Generations'.
  • Record your questions in your E-Journal (In Myclasses 'The Stolen Generations'). During the course of this unit you will need to find answers to these questions.
If you have finished and there is still time remaining, continue with your reading / viewing of the speech.



Part B: Group Work

Getting Organised

  • Decide on who will act as leader, recorder, and questioner. Note: Roles are to be alternated every lesson.
  • Together decide on the format you like to use for your project e.g. Powerpoint, Photostory, Video etc.
  • Create a concept map in Inspiration to help with your planning. Spend 5 minutes gathering and recording ideas. Note: You will have opportunity to add to concept map in each lesson.

Project Work

  • Share with the group what you found striking or interesting in the Apology Speech.
  • Decide on the 3 most striking or interesting elements.
  • Record these 3 elements in your chosen format.
  • Share and discuss one of your questions with your group.
